Hallveig Ágústsdóttir is an Icelandic visual and sound artist living in Ghent, Belgium, we met in 2010 and have longed for a collaboration together ever since. Beginning of september 2014 we finally took our first steps towards the exploration our mutual worlds: sounds – organic materials – paper – silence – rhythm -intensity, the delicate play of line and voice, of colour and timbre, of the written and the drawn, the spoken and the uttered.
In 2017, we explored further and created HORTUS SONUS [a blueprint of a garden] –
a book – a performance, a rhizome, a tracing, drawing, writing, sewing, sowing, sounding, improvisation. Using various materials: paper, ink, pencils, paint, charcoal, wax, stones, brushes, twigs… and most specifically plants from the garden where we perform.
